The Rocket Summer Tour: Road Update Vol. Three (New Song: “Stay” Acoustic) A few months ago, our management reached out to us about an opportunity to write a song that would have potential for placement in a hotel/travel commercial. Someone out there was looking for just the right tune for their project. We happened to be hanging out at the time we got the news. We were bouncing around song concept ideas and both felt like this was the perfect challenge.
This song is a product of that writing session. We have no idea if the company ever heard the song or not, but then again… does that even matter?
NOPE!
We humbly present, “Stay”.
Location: An abandoned train car just outside Denver, CO.
Lyrics:
Lets pack our bags and hit the road
With 13 hours to San Francisco
And if Georgia calls our name, we’ll be there just the same
Making homes away from home
Heard Seattle’s nice this time of year
Take a ferry through the Sound
Then head south right down to Portland
Chasing sun over in Tucson
Catching waves in California
Making homes away from home
Stay with me
Stay as long as you like
We’ll see the world every day sunrise to sunrise
No matter where we are
How we got there
Close or far
I just hope that you’ll remember
To stay as long as you like
Lets take a plane to Tokyo
Pass the time just taking pictures
Meet the locals for some dinner
Then we’ll head over to London
Riding trains, traversing Scotland
Building homes from what we’ve known
No need to rush, time is always on our side
We’ve got the world at our fingertips tonight
In the morning when we wake, a new adventure will await
And when we’re done, we’ll know exactly who we are
